Ayo Gurkhali A memorial forest in Nepal honouring Captain Gaje Ghale VC

UK registered charity Pipal Tree and its NGO partner in Nepal, the Mithila Wildlife Trust, are together creating a Gurkha Memorial Forest in honour of the tens of thousands of Nepalese men who have served in the British and Indian Armies since 1939. The forest will incorporate 13 dense clusters, one for each Victoria Cross won since 1939. The first of these was created in late 2022 in memory of Captain Lalbahadur Thapa VC.
