@b.g.37863 years ago The only way to tell the tins appart is on the back of the tins. There it says if its 5 or 6. 5

@NerdyNinetales3 years ago SO TRUE! All of my "baby shiny" pokemon showed the silvering on the right edge all around. It is so unfortunate. 1

@maxodidily3 years ago I've noticed this on the Pikachu V promos in boxes that arrived today. 5

@reviewforthetube64853 years ago This for sure raises the value of the cards actually bevause it means less psa10's in existence like the Evo zard less psa10's and theu cost more when it gets a psa10 so it's worth the investment what happens to investors and collectors that thought about grading some were happy when we knew sets quality wasn't great because we knew if we got s q0 it's a big deal people are like the rates are so good on this set sure but psa10 is super hard to get as you stated at the end psa10 prices can go crazy ... 2

@vuminhdang57243 years ago I think the silvering issue is definitely one that affects all baby shinies, because it is a different pattern/texture this time. You can see that it is a textured holo stock with the card printed on top, evident from the star next to the card list number. I believe that the printing onto this stock is not perfect hence the silvering at the edge, which is actually just the holo stockr below the paint ... 4

@andyp.42053 years ago My first etb box had ridges in the top of the card. 2 or 3 cards had this. Also, I noticed the blue color on back of the card where lighter in color than some.

@Lucky-eq4po3 years ago Ive noticed mostly the baby shiny v cards have silvering not all cards. Quality is actally really good on some cards. Pulled charizard after 5 packs and its got real shot at a psa 10 7

@PokePey3 years ago I just opened 26 packs and the quality is weird. The energy’s feel weird texture wise and centering is awful on all uncommon/commons the shinies and the full art trainer I pulled were centered well so I guess that is good ? 1

@sirjustis3 years ago I think I’m literally done with Pokémon, in the US. I’m sick of going and the shelf looks like the toilet paper roll isle at the peak of the pandemic!....... and then when a super popular set comes out, you get jack squat bc the big box stores don’t even want to stock it. ... 2

@thaane3 years ago I was looking at SF cards on ebay earlier and couldn't find one worth buying because they all had silvering. Seems to be pretty common on the amazing rares, too. Even the Vivid voltage amazing rares had occasional silvering. ...
  • @
@Victorsaurs3 years ago 5 of the shiny cards i pulled all have silvering on the left side
  • @
@hannatay65403 years ago Opened 46 packs in total so far (European products) and all of the baby shinies (but none of the others) had silvering on the side. It's disappointing of course, but I'm still happy pulling these beautiful cards as I'll keep them in my binder and won't grade then. But pull rates were great for me btw ! ...

@donut50893 years ago Don't take the current condition for granted...when there's a massive reprint because of high demand the quality is just going to get worse 1
  • @
@charizardballer69213 years ago You can tell. On the bottom of the tins it tells you if they’are 5 or 6 packs 1
  • @
@keewinter57523 years ago I only have 4 baby shinies atm and 2 of them have silvering 1
  • @
@YoungKProductions3 years ago Can confirm silvering issues in Canada as well. Baby shinys
  • @
@vegas_party_animal77373 years ago Opened an etb I got directly from Pokemoncenter usa and every single reverse foil had debris under the foil so they look like they have pizza air bubbles. It’s absolutely disappointing and if my second one has the same quality issues I’m definitely gonna send the other 2 back for a refund. Not paying for defective cards ...

@eco8gator3 years ago The US release is horrible as well...LOTS of silvering. I was so pissed off that I opened a case with Pokemon USA and they agreed that the cards were flawed and to return them for replacement. Not sure if what they will return...
I also found that they yellow flakes off as soon as you put it in the sleeve.
Lucky for me is I got all of mine at retail;)

  • @
@Yolornggod3 years ago I wouldnt wait. Get the chance to buy if you see any. People are camping out at retailers. We cant even get any. 1
  • @
@pokemonanimebattle36153 years ago If there are quality issues then wouldn't that make psa 10 cards from this set more valuable? 1
  • @
@maxmewtwo3 years ago Just opened a ETB and got not 10 not 11 but 12 packs can’t believe my luck . I’m in UK not had any problems with my babies yet 3
  • @
@wartortle13753 years ago I cracked opened 5 ETBS and all baby shining have the silver lining on the right. :/
  • @
@dragontypemasterchannel3 years ago US quality isn’t good having the same issue. 3

@mattdeegan73003 years ago Agree with this- but people are so hungry for Shining Fates right now that they won’t even care. It’s the release date, so products are inherently going for more, but even with quality issues we’re seeing all products selling at 3x MSRP in the US. More seasoned collectors and those getting SF products down the line probably will care much more unless these issues are corrected in future print runs.
It’s really insane- I usually can find a couple ETBs and other products on release at MSRP, even if they sell out quickly. This time, I didn’t have a chance to get a single product from 3 different online vendors. Allocations must really be that tight on wave 1. Plus the demand for this set is absolutely through the roof. No one wants to miss out on another “Hidden Fates” money-making opportunity again, so the collectors are mostly left in the dust.

@lordbulbasaur88943 years ago Opened a few Pikachu V boxes direct from US Pokémon Center, all baby shinies had silvering.
  • @
@jonathanjohnson44193 years ago Print quality on U.S. boxes are pretty bad. Silvering all throughout the edges. 1
  • @
@maverickbonato81643 years ago Selling it the second my order comes in and then maybe buying it again later on in a few months lol 1
  • @
@RubberYen3 years ago US here. All baby shinies, shiny vmax, amazing rare have imperfections from my experience for SF. Super disappointing
  • @
@ObstagoonGuy3 years ago I can confirm that the European Paper Tin Wave of Hidden Fates has the bad quality matted finish baby shiny cards.
I just feel bad for all the kids that won't get any TCG product throughout the whole year of 2021. The kids don't care if the baby Shinies have silver borders. But all the boxes will go to adults who will keep them sealed, because they know there is a high probability that the cardstock is really bad. There just isn't enough supply for everyone. ...

@phothewin60193 years ago Sigh, English card quality inferior as usual. Same story with Yugioh cards. Unacceptable that poor card quality should happen as often as it does for these cards. 2

@nathanboulton31783 years ago Pulled 2 Suicines both silvering on the right side :(

@florianalter98863 years ago Regarding the 5 vs 6 Booster tins, my impression is that the pull rates in the 5 booster tins is much better.
I watched a couple of openings and the 5 booster tins did way better overall, despite having less packs.
I've seen someone pull Charizard Vmax, one gold card, one trainer FA, two Shiny FA, two baby shinies and two V cards out of three tins only.
