1905. According to an account of the church's history, the chaplain was interned during the Second World War and the place was managed by Scandinavian* residents of Bangkok. * Funny, isn't it, how certain Scandinavians always manage to slither out of moral commitments? Doubtless they enjoyed the run of the Siamese capital while Britishers, Australians, Frenchmen and others must labour, and probably die, on the Burma railway or on death marches or in P.O.W. camps at the mercy of sadistic Japanese soldiers. The Swedes proclaimed their neutrality in the war, but carried on supplying the Nazis with all the ore they needed. How very convenient. Yet they claim the moral high ground, imagining they are an 'ethical superpower', for years cosying up, for example, to African dictators of the most evil type, acting as praise-singers for them and supplying them with all the cash they could ever need and moral support from the intelligentsia. Now they present to the world their Greta Thunberg performing monkey, and ask us to consider this idiotic little prig a saint. That Sweden is descending into barbarism as a consequence of mass immigration is immensely pleasing to a world that is sick and tired of their preening self-righteousness.
