2 PROS AND A CUP OF JOE - LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, and Jonas Knox talk about the recent story involving former Ole Miss player DeSanto Rollins suing Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin. The basis of the case is that Lane Kiffin dismissed DeSanto Rollins based on mental health issues that Kiffin wasn't acknowledging. The guys dive into the allegations and say that there has to be more to the story because so far it isn't adding up. ► SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/FSRYT_SUB ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/foxsportsradio/ ► TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ foxsportsradio ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/foxsportsradio/ ► LISTEN LIVE: https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/listen ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/foxsportsradio/

@66048fishn-huntin5 months ago Cant make any decisions off this audio by itself. What is the history of this athlete? Have the coaches had issues with him before or was this the first disciplinary problem? Had he notified them of his mental issues? 1

@Matt-cr4vv5 months ago The way lane was talking to him was crummy but right before the audio clip, according to the transcript of the full recording, and in the legal complaint have to wonder how he didnt know to seek treatment because the coaches didnt explain to him but when he informed his mother after the position change she knew what to do but with the prior year of severe depression that severely hampered his ability to live a normal life he never told her or she never noticed the problems to seek help earlier? Never want to diminish what could be genuine problems but its hard to wrap your mind around how previously you had the issues, the coaches should have known, you didnt know to tell them or seek any help which is their fault for not teaching you about it and for whatever reason your mom knew what to do for the position change issues but not the prior ones. Redding through the complaint most allegations center on something negative happened, it became depression, coaches should have known but didnt, coaches should have known to refer you for mental health problems you havent told about and didnt know to seek yourself because it was their fault for not teaching you that mental health treatment exists. Every aspect of the negatives were someone at the schools fault. I clearly dont know this to be the case but the complaint made it seem like the dude may have had a pattern of feeling entitled or difficulty in accountability - namely when his defensive line coach encouraged him to transfer because if he stayed he wasnt going to really do much besides just be there in the team and he asked how the coach could come to that conclusion when he hadnt been given a chance to play. But he did get to play and practice over a period of time and unfortunately was hampered by injuries but that reasonse just makes you wonder how their prior interactions had been. But i cant say that id have reacted the best if i interact with a player who never mentions mental health to me until hes told his position is being switched and then ghosts all attempts made to speak with him or attend any team functions or requirements for the next three weeks. Couldve spoken better to the kid but i imagine many people would be somewhat pissed off in the same scenario. ...Expand 6

Kiffin does not possess the authoritative role of a boss or master but rather assumes the position of a coach and educator. Kiffin displays a complete absence of empathy or compassion. Why would athat he recruited just disappear? The student was experiencing emotional distress due to the loss of his grandma and physical trauma resulting in several injuries. Thewas simply not ready to have a conversation with kiffin, and this information was duly sent to kiffin, indicating themental unpreparedness for dialogue. Given that spring practice had not yet commenced, the urgency to engage in immediate conversation was relatively insignificant when compared to the mental well-being of aexperiencing distress. ...Expand
