@bcgrittner4 years ago Amazing Grace. Pentatonic Scale ( 5 notes ). It came from Africa. When the slaves were being loaded onto the slave ships they sang this melody as a sorrow chant. Ship Captain John Newcomb wrote it down. English lyrics came in the late 19th century. Great tune. I have sung it church, A Capella, multiple times. Always gets a good reaction from the audience. Church is currently suspended. ... 4
