The Efflux Mk. 1 is an EDF research testbed with various sensors including: GPS, airspeed, accelerometers, barometers, gyros, and a thrust measuring load cell. The fan will later be fitted with a variable outlet area nozzle and characterized over a wide range of throttle settings, outlet areas, and airspeeds with the ultimate goal of building a variable nozzle profile for maximum thrust, optimal efficiency, or a mix of both.
